A must-see for fans of Greer

If you like Greer Garson, you MUST see this film.

She has a ball. She sings, she dances, she smokes, she flirts, she bamboozles, she wears a tablecloth, she cavorts in the mud, she impersonates a sea lion, she says "black panties".

She has her usual wonderful rapport with Walter. Her scenes with Liz are sweet and poignant. Great scenes with Nigel Bruce.

She's in a bathtub. "I'm in the nude!" "Well, get out of the nude."

See it after watching "Mrs. Miniver" and "Random Harvest", and you will be amazed.

I was amazed. Saw this from your recommendation on your website, was a devil to find a copy. Greer is FANTASTIC in this, absolutely brilliant and game for anything. Thoroughly enjoyed it, while never going to win any best picture awards it was entertaining throughout and Garson is fab as Julia.

Only one problem, she married a total bastard, her stuff was so strong, frmo a couple of throw away lines of how their marrieage broke up (BASTARD BASTARD BASTARD) I just couldn't feel he'd earned the right to play tricks on her nad play with her feelings in his second courtship. Julia you run off with Benji, he'll treat you nicely and he won't turn around after you've just had a kid and say 'Julia I don't love you anymore'. Pidgeon, you bastard

I agree this is a great film for fans of Greer Garson. Who was excellent in it, and I enjoyed the rest of the cast as well, including Liz Taylor and Peter Lawford.

Lizzie, can't agree more about the shabby way Julia was treated. HE'S the one who walked out on her when she'd given him no cause to do so other than his own cold feet. Lets his overbearing mother dictate everything and, under her influence, never allows the woman who bore his daughter to see the girl!

Still, this was a charming movie from start to finish, everyone in the cast shines (especially the lovely Greer Garson) and even an oddly cast Cesar Romero pulls it off splendidly!

Okay folks, show's over, nothing to see here!

Just saw this film again. What a great movie! The cast is spectacular, even a well cast Cesar Romero. But Greer Garson dominates it. She is among the very best of Hollywood's Golden Age, yet imo does not get enough recognition today as such. And what a great while unique beauty. One of my favorites.

I had seen Ms. Greer in other movies which I enjoyed but I wasn't necessarily a fan of hers. This movie changed all that. I absolutely love this movie and I love her in it! Everyone did such a great job and the story is entertaining. It's such fun and quite funny too! I'd recommend the movie to anyone.

Woman, man! That's the way it should be Tarzan. [Tarzan and his mate]
