Best Mute Portrayal I have ever seen

Hands down, Wyman deserved her Oscar!

reply

i agree with you completely.

reply

thanks, but you don't have to if you feel different.

reply

Probably the best I've ever seen too, very realistic.

I personally go for Alan Arkin's in The Heart is a Lonely Hunter, but Wyman's was excellent, too.

Jesus loves me, this I know...

reply

When I saw the OP, I thought of Arkin immediately. I like his better, but Wyman is also superb.

Oh Lord, you gave them eyes but they cannot see...

reply

Yeah, It is one of the best portrayals of a mute person that I've ever seen.

I can only compare Jane Wyman's marvelous performance in "Johnny Belinda" with one from a mexican actor called Ignacio López Tarso in a movie called "El hombre de papel". But I am sure 99% of you people haven't watched that movie.

Anyway Ms Jane Wyman really deserved the Oscar.

Many in the deaf community love this film, which is quite a high compliment.
