Why does God allow war? or cancer or these political protests in Africa now?? I'm going to say what a preist said at a funeral I was at earlier this week..."Earth is not Heaven. We were not put on this planet for an easy life. That is what Heaven is for. We are here to come closer to God."

I know this doesn't really answer your question. I'm with you on this question. Jehanne (true spelling) had such a strong faith, why did God cut her life so short? I guess we will never really know until we see God and ask him then what the bigger picture really was.
