The norwegian wasn't believable, nor were the accents

I really liked this film and I obviously shouldn't expect american actors/actresses to get it perfectly but I have to say it was a bit annoying. Most voice coaches appear to believe we sound like Germans but that's far from the truth. It did put me a little out of the film but this little bagatelle did not ruin the experience (of course).

Great performances. A very touching film.

I can't find any criticism of Dunne's accent online; can't say about the rest of the cast. But, it should be remembered that they weren't playing Norwegians . Being here long enough to command the English language as well as they did would certainly, I think, affect their accents.

What is dom gjett?

What is Uncle Chris' song and Mama's?

Let's just say that God doesn't believe in me.

dom gjett means "judgment(or sentence) guess"

Uncle Chris' song:
10,000 Swedes went through the weeds
at the battle of Copenhagen

chasing one Norwegian

Mama sings Søvnen, "Slumber Song", a lullaby.

Music by Carl Nielson or Halfdan Kjerulf (I've found it under both names)

Lyrics are a poem by Johannes Jørgensen or Bjørnstjerne Bjørnson

Also called: while infancy dreamed

My search wasn't very successful for Mama's song, maybe someone else can find

more information.

thank you for that

Thank you! I meant Uncle Chris' softer song when Arne asked him for something quieter. The melody is used as Chris' theme throughout.

You've got me?! Who's got you?!
