Revealing mistakes: When running through the sewers, electric cords powering the the flashlights are visible
I do remember seeing "cables" but I thought it was rope, so that he wouldn't get lost in that underground labyrinth. Sort of like Hansel and Gretal leaving the bread crumbs.
But I could be wrong, because when he is chased by the police, you see the rope/cables again, and that wouldn't make sense to have hundreds of feet of cable following you around.
