A digital clock?

Somewhat before a half hour into the film there is a close-up of a digital clock. Although such clocks have been around even before this movie, what I thought odd about this clock was that it had a readout of the hours, minutes AND seconds (unusual) and was displaying 10:55 & 55 seconds. The seconds displayed on a rotating wheel and you could clearly see the 54 above the 55 and the 56 below. Shadows on the wheel gave the impression it's a small wheel. But if that's true, how could all 60 numbers fit on it (the numbers were not tiny)? Plus, the rotation of the wheel was too slow to be moving at a per-second speed! Did anyone else notice these things? Am I wrong?

The film had a bit of a technology theme and having a state of the art digital clock (although analogue mechanism) was just good production design.

I think the display is real as the seconds actually go up in 5 sec increments so it only needs 12 digits.

I had a clock with a similar display in the late 70's
