BEWARE THE "ALPHA" VERSION!
It apparently is missing the 2nd reel. The story jumps from a drunken Mary leaving the pub to people talking about her grisly murder the day after. Most Tod Slaughter movies are around 70 minutes. So DO NOT BUY THIS ALPHA DISC, which clocks in at 53 minutes.
I think I read once that the Alpha DVD is the cut American version that was released theatrically in the States way back when, though I don't know for sure if that's true. Are there any other versions besides the Alpha DVD in Region 1? Or do the best prints/transfers only exist in other regions, and thus would have to be watched on a region free player? I haven't seen any of the Alpha Slaughter DVDs, but if they're even halfway presentable, I'll probably purchase them, considering how cheap they are and that there are little other options available. Even if they're on the level of the Slaughter films I've watched on YouTube, that's good enough for me.
