Good Sam on TCM in December, 2011

Good Sam (1948-Leo McCarey), long vanished from broadcast on television at the holidays, is finally being broadcast on Tuesday, December 20, 2011 @ 08:00 PM (ET) on Turner Classic Movies. Set your DVRs!

The film, which demonstrates the double-edged sword of being a generous person and allows us to see Gary Cooper and Ann Sheridan as a creditable, human couple (the pair are great together), is both understandably cynical and sentimental. Not a perfect film, but it has its moments and for me at least, is the last of director Leo McCarey's better films.
