Musical score

I have seen only the last half of the film, and liked it a lot. Nice story, beautiful B&W cinematography, nice action, sympatico characters.

The musical score seemed very, very similar to parts of Howard Hanson's Romantic Symphony, a favorite of mine. Anybody else notice the symilarity?

I am a very big admirer of Howard Hanson. He is right at the top of my list of American composers and rates highly with others. Paul Sawtell wrote more than two hundred movie scores, most were forgetable, but some were very memorable. When you write that many, something is bound to sound like something else. So I believe that yes, this does remind one of Hanson's symphony #2, The Romantic. It may be just a coincidence or possibly that Sawtell was influenced by Hanson. I am happy to see that some one else appreciates this ( Hanson )under-rated brilliant composer!
