A good movie

But my least favorite of the trilogy because of Fonda's overbearing attitude toward both those under his command and the Indians. Being a Veteran I can identify with that type of officer and it doesn't make life in the military easy.

I put it in the middle, with Yellow Ribbon my favorite, then Ft Apache, then Rio Grande.

I'm also a veteran, and think Fondas stubborness as the CO makes the performances of the rest of the cast even better.

Yes, this is a good movie! I'm not crazy about westerns so I've been putting off seeing it for a long time. When it came on again today I finally watched and to my surprise I really liked it.

Unfortunately, Thursday types, like the one Fonda plays, don't just exist in the military. They're out there making a lot of people's lives difficult! I've met a few along the way myself. Fortunately, unlike Thursday, most of these types are in positions in which their stupid mistakes won't lead to the loss of life.

Woman, man! That's the way it should be Tarzan. [Tarzan and his mate]

I've never served, but I know the type. I don't get how those people get through life like that. Seeing them and having to deal with them makes a man sad and angry all at once.
