Region 1 DVD?

This movie is among the long list of amazing American movies not available on DVD (on my list others include Wild River, Waterloo Bridge, Bigger than Life and Letter from an Unknown Woman), or at least in Canada and the U.S.

If you want to lobby to get it on DVD, you can start by simply typing in your email adress here:

If you want A Foreign Affair to get the Criterion treatment, send and email here:

If there is any new news, please post it here. I haven't seen this movie, but Billy Wilder remains a brilliant director and Jean Arthur is one of the finest comediennes ever. Billy Wilder's Ace in the Hole was one of the most ageless and scathing movies ever made. I hope this is the same.

Did he train you? Did he rehearse you? Did he tell you *exactly* what to do, what to say?!

Amazon.com has a few used VHS tapes of A Foreign Affair if you want to purchase one. It is listed at 20 bucks right now, so if you have the cash and a VCR...

TCM aired A Foreign Affair a couple of years ago, and it's a gem. Jean Arthur even outshines Marlene Dietrich, which is no easy accomplishment. I'll also go to TCM.com and suggest for the DVD.
