How do you like the way Carol Reed kept composing shots where the telltale window ledge (from which Mrs. Baines fatally fell) keeps getting positioned just beyond the characters onscreen who are mistakenly wondering how she fell (or was pushed) from the top of the staircase? The answer is staring everyone in the face and shouting "Here!" while our suspense mounts. Masterful camera work, tells the story visually.
