Anyone else feel this way?

I always wanted the Rollo and Evelyn Keyes characters to fall in love with each other - despite the age difference. I kept thinking "it isn't too late, Rollo!" You have Farley Granger killed - and Rollo and Keyes turn to each other in their shared loss ... the end of the film shows us two years from now, at the maternity ward of the hospital, where he holds beside her, their baby - and they decide to call her "Lark".

Ummm.....Selina was Rollo's sister - it would be a whole different kind of movie if your scenario played out.

reply

Funny, yes, that would be true!

But Evelyn Keyes didn't play Selina. She played some distant niece. I'm speaking of the WWII period in the movie when Rollo is older.

reply

She isn't some distant niece; she's his great-niece. She is the granddaughter of his brother Pellam. That would be way disgusting!!!!

I was hoping that Lark would come back to the house, and they could be together in their old age.

Spoilers***************I kept hoping that Rollo would travel to Italy to see her and possibly spend the rest of their years together. But maybe it hadn't been very long since her husband died.

reply

Evelyn Keyes and David Niven did have an affair in real life so maybe he kept his old man make-up on for one of their trysts and you sorta got your wish.
