Bing Crosby's Lighter

I do not know if this is appropriate to send on this site but this is a start for me to tell someone. I have a lighter that is a "Delmar" vintage brand. I have had it since I was 17 or 18 years old and I am 47 now. I found it in the L.A. area when I lived there. The inscription reads:

Emperor Waltz
'46
Bing

I have never researched it but I've talked about it periodically through the years as a conversation piece as Bing Crosby's lighter. (Cause I've always said how many people could be named Bing)
I live in Indiana now and recently had a yard sale and went through quite a number of vintage items that I have always kept through the years. I ran across this lighter and was encouraged to finally research it. I never even knew what Emperor Waltz stood for untill I found this site. I had no idea it was his movie. I feel this was his personal lighter. It works and is in good condition. Do you know how I could go about getting this authenticated, or what step I could go from here? Just looking for a suggestion. My regular e-mail is [email protected].

runningbehindpeace,

It sounds legitimate. But how do you explain '46? This movie was made in '48.

The '46 could have been because the lighter was a gift to Crosby as incentive for him to sign on to do the picture. Just a guess.

Filming was done in the summer of '46. I think you've got something legit.
