Just saw this movie after like 15 years (last time was a rental) & getting outbid on eBay for a Betamax copy w/ a nice clamshell box about 5 years back. Got a Chinese DVD a few days ago. Really missed this sleeper of a film!
I had not heard of it until a few minutes ago. Thankfully, there is a store which carries cult movies (Newbury Comics) within reasonable distance. I'll see if they carry it.
OH....YES! I mentioned on an earlier post, that I saw this on TV in the very late 50's, or early 60's. I didn't quite understand what the movie was about, but I was soooo intrigued by the title, since I was born in 1948 when it was made, and since green has always been my favorite color since I was about 4 years old...strange I know, to have a favorite color at such a young age...but that's another story.
Back then, we really used the TV Guide as if it were another kind of bible to see what shows were scheduled, etc.
Well when I saw the listing and time posted for TBWTGH, I don't know why I thought I was going to be able to actually see green hair, seeing as though we had a B&W television set!
Now mind you....I didn't care about seeing anything else in the movie in color,
I just wanted to see THE GREEN HAIR!
Although I am a very youthful, 63 year old African-American grandmother who rocks a very fierce, braid hairstyle.....I am sometimes tempted to braid just a little green hair into my braids just to feed the "punk" in me! LOL!!
