Irritating Wife

Maybe it's viewing it through a 2000's viewpoint, but I found Maureen O'Sullivan's character to be pretty unsympathetic. All she could do was fuss about how much Ray Milland works. Meanwhile she's a stay at home wife, with a beautiful home, one child, and a housekeeper. Does she understand that it's his salary that allows her to live this luxurious lifestyle?

Milland should have suggested she get a job, then he wouldn't have to work so much.
