beautiful photography

The early scenes captured with swooping camera movement by talented cinematographers, John Seitz and Daniel Fapp are great. They capture the busy offices in a building dedicated to magazines appealing to diverse interests of readers.

Director John Farrow took full advantage of the skills of his cinematographers to create a bigger than life picture of an industry on the fast track. This is a film noir that includes all the components of such a film style and made in the late 1940s. Starring Ray Milland and Charles Laughton, this movie is a real keeper.

Yes, it is a beautiful movie to look at. Worth pausing frequently just to admire shots like still photos.
