Great noir movie

Black and white movies do have an edge with thrillers, casting shadows and giving it the earie feel to the story. Even in daylight the sanitarium looked spooky. The touch of humour brought a bit of lightness. However in those days if all they had to worry about was getting beaten up and locked in solitary rooms it kept the audience in the dark about shock treatments, water baths and other torture that patients suffered in all the name of "treatment". Now that is scary.
