Damn! How'd they get away with that?

The DVD of Arch of Triumph that I saw included Ingrid Bergman saying the line "Damn it!" Since this U.S. movie was made in 1948, it was presumably subject to Hollywood's Production Code, which forbade swearing (it made an exception for Clark Gable's last line in 1939's Gone with the Wind, but I don't know of any others). How did Arch of Triumph get away with a line with the word "damn" in it?

I'm wondering if the print on the DVD that I watched was a version meant for overseas markets only.

If anyone else has any info about this, I'd be very interested to know.
