Charming, heart warming, must see!

Glad I saw this film. Jeanne Crain's character was a bit too chipper for me but William Holden was dreamy - never realized how much before. I found it hard to follow the speed at which Peggy Taylor talked though - glad I had DVR'd the movie and was able to rewind when I missed the dialogue.

I found this film to be utterly charming and heart warming. I especially liked the commitment all the characters felt for each other starting with the members of the chamber orchestra. I loved Peggy Taylor's outlook on life and how she & her husband wanted to make the world a better place to live. She remarked on how people should look for what we have in common with each other instead of pointing out our differences.

I wanted to follow these characters and was sadden when the movie ended.

I was saddened too. Even now after my 3rd or 4th viewing. I like to think "Pop's" was around to see Peggy and Jason have those nine kids she wanted. And maybe even get a degree herself. This is a wonderful picture with a good moral. Life is what we make it, not just what happens to us along the way.
