As usual ...

Magnani was positively brilliant. Amazing and compelling performances. Pretty incredible direction as well. But, like many Italian neo-realism films of the period, Jesus, were both stories depressing. Is it just me, or does anyone else feel the need to watch a comedy after something like this to lighten one's mood a bit?
