Why weren't the Monkees on Ed's show

They were HUGE. He liked to have really big acts. I wonder why

Because they had their own show in which they performed weekly- they didn't need Ed.

Different network and I'm sure the producers of The Monkees would never have allowed them to cross over to CBS, even for Ed.
