Yet another defective DVD set from Universal.

I had picked up Volumes 1 and 3 of Universal's Abbott & Costello DVD sets, each of which had to be returned TWICE because of damaged/defective DVDs. In spite of reading numerous online reviews of how messed up playback was on the second set, I decided to chance it to complete my Abbott & Costello collection. Sure enough, it's another problem-plagued product from Universal. I've gone through two of these, and am going to have to take it back to the store yet again in order to find a good one. And I see, by a number of magazine and online reviews, Universal's DVD set of Hammer horror films is also setting new records for defective merchandise. Does anyone at the company have a clue?

well i was lucky as my dvds had no defects, but i can clearly see why would peopel choose to donwload over buy for these reasons. you have a high chance of dvd not evne loading, you have to sit through 30 minuets of commercials and warning for people who do thei llegla stuff (even though you bought the dvd they warn you not to steal, what the hell), when if you download its 2 clicks away from playing, and its never broken.

I've watched 5 of the 8 movies without a problem. I'm sorry you got a bad set. It sounds like they need a new manufacturer.

Do you understand the words that I am saying to you?

No problems at all with my Volumes 1 & 2.

I had volumes three and four and had trouble with the second disc of vol.three and the first of vol.four! Trouble is I left it too late to get a replacement so had to rebuy and got another dud straight off! So sent it back and got another set off someone through Amazon and luckily got a good one, same with the fourth set!

Shut the door, Mary...
