What did you rate ''Where There's Life'' (1947)?

This fast and funny Bob Hope comedy-thriller throws in some Ninotchka for an entertaining but not completely satisfying movie. Bob Hope's gag lines have a fair share of good ones as well as clunkers. William Bendix is consistently funny and has a lot of good lines himself. The plot could have gone in some funnier directions than it does. I would have liked Hope to make it to Borovia. The climax on the plane is especially disappointing. There's an unconvincing plot twist, and for no good reason that I can figure out, a throwaway line reveals that everything that had gone on before was pointless.

It's still a lot of fun, and I gave it 7/10 for the database: imdb.com/title/tt0039982/ratings What did you rate it? What did you think of it?
