Animal death?

In the film a pig was killed by the gang of children in their search for food. They were not able to eat it themselves, the farmer managed to get to pig back.
They also got some chicken. Whether they were really killed during filming I can't say.

I just saw the movie and it deeply touched me. The scene in which the old man is playing the piano and the camera goes around room seeing children playing, sleeping, eating, fleeing was stunning.
