Michael North

Michael North had been in films before The Unsuspected as Ted North, but he was officially 'introduced' by Warners in this one. It is a good film, and he acquits himself well, but, as an actor, it was his finale even th ough he had the lead. I recall that North was supposesdly 'set' to star opposite Doris Day, another newcomer, in a film called 'The 49-ers', but it never happened. I do know he became an agent. But how did this all come about? Why was 'The Unsuspected' the only claim to fame as an actor? It was not a flop, and he is not bad in it at all. So...... what happened??

I have to agree he was pretty bad. Lots of fine, if campy, performances in this movie but he was a weak link.

Interesting though that as of today that 4 of the players in the films are still living. (Totter, Art Gilmore, Harry Lewis and North)

North was by far the weak link in this film ... almost too much so. Caulfield was underwhelming as well. The rest of the cast however was excellent. Nice to see Rains in a lead role. Thanks to Warner Archives for releasing this gem on DVD.

He was not very good and should have gotten out of the movies.
