Joan Caufield's clothes

Has anyone noticed that Joan Caufield always wore high necked clothes in every scene? Did she have a physical impediment or scar? Just curious.

Janeywan; I have seen JOAN CAUFIELD in many roles, and no did not detect any physical impediment. Believe it was just the costuming for that picture. She was consider one of the most photogenically perfect actresses with two good sides. Almost impossible to make look bad.

All the clothes worn in this film by these beautiful women were outstanding. I must check and see who was the designer.

HoferPM-1; My S.O. and I agree with you. My S.O.'s own clothes are sort of retro 1940s' and well tailored. Of course she always looks good to me.

Clothing credited to Milo Anderson. There were some eye-catching costumes and set decoration on this movie, the heighth of late 40's style.

I have just been taking a gander at Joan C.'s photos on internet to see if she really resembled Veronica Carlson as much as I tought in 2012 (see my post on subject). There are lots of shots of her in bathing suits and other low-cut outfits, and there was nothing wrong with her neck or chest.

I think the high neck and other outfits she wore in The Unsuspected were intended for a dressed down effect to make her character seem demure and vulnerable compared to the wicked and volcanically hot (whew!!!!) Audrey Totter.
