Perfect hair and makeup after a waterfall

While I can understand that in the classic times of Hollywood cinema actors appeared with perfect hairdos the whole time being chased by Indians in the wilderness, I still think the lead actress wore way too much makeup. It could be the color of an old movie, but those red cheeks didn't look natural.
