Seth McFarlane take Stewie's wayback machine to do this movie? Young smart-aleck smirking Confrad Janis kept reminging me of Seth McFarlane for some reason! lol. I watched this on TCM today for the first time and didn't think it as bad as everyone else says and it's hilarious that people were making an issue out of a child being born out of wedlock compared to today's mores/standards/acceptance. The ending did have a certain EWWWWWWW factor. It hit me from way out in left field when Ronnie was going to wed the young girl he thought was his daughter Mary at end of the movie! He was around 17/18 years her senior and that's o.k. (either male or female) but the fact that you thought the older guy was her Father thru the ENTIRE MOVIE just made it kind of EWWWWWWWWWWWW to me. I guess on their Honeymoon night he can truly say 'Call me Daddy Mary!!' Ewwwwww!! I didn't think it was one of the 50 worst movies (michael medved) ever made at all, and I always like Shirley Temple when she was growing up. She's still with us which is amazing too! If you think about all of these poor kids of past or present that grew up famous (and Shirley was very very famous)and then suffer substance abuse, died, got arrested, suicide, scandal etc.? Temple must have had darn good parents, self-image, or just lucky to survive God Bless her!
