At the train station

I lived in Tokyo from 1951 to the sixties (I am not Japanese). The Japan of those days was so different from today. I kept thinking that the couple would be surprised at the Tokyo of 1960. Just about a dozen years only to turn around almost completely. One thing stood out: almost all of the signage was in Japanese. However, at the end at the train station, the trash bin was clearly labeled "trash" in English. Also the night club name was presented in English. But the "trash" really stuck out to me.
