My Review

I watched this on TCM last night because there was absolutely nothing else whatsoever on TV to watch! And I love just about any 'costume' movie. The sets, (the beautiful ships! the palace rooms!) the music, the costumes, and the Technicolor - all A+. But it was kind of slow and talky (not that I minded, just pointing it out); there were a few scenes of rather shocking violence; and the heroes were about 10 years too old for their roles. And our saucy hero, pursued by slow-moving bumblers, handily making fools out of them, his movements seemed just a little bit too slow. And every time he leaped out of their way to safety, he flung his arms up in the air as if "hey, I scored another point! Hooray for me!"

I rate this movies...a hoot!
