MM's 'bit'

Supposedly, Marilyn Monroe had "a bit part" in this film.

I haven't seen it yet, but I am sure other people have.
Any comments on MM's "bit"?

Hi. Unfortunately, I have only seen the first part of the movie several years ago. The part I saw didn't have Marilyn in it. Evidently, nobody has seen her in the film (http://www.marilyncollector.com/legend/pilgrim.html). If I ever get the chance to see the movie in it's entirety, I'll definitely be looking for her.

Where is she in the film? I just sat thru it and didnt notice her.

I have a old copy of this recorded off AMC and Bob Dorian mentions that MM's contribution was simply a telephone voice saying "Hello." It would have gone down in history as her first film...had the scene not been cut. It was probably considered anachronistic since the telephone hadn't been invented until 1876 and the movie's set in 1874.

PM me if anyone wants a free DVR of this charming movie.

Thanks, Immy (and others).
I had almost forgotten about this thread and probably wouldn't have noticed your contribution, if it weren't for a recent revival of interest in this subject on the MM board. ;-)

I thought her work was probably left on the editing floor, but had no idea it was "only" a voice part.
Interesting. Thanks!

She is an extra. She doesn't have a role. She is in the Typewriting class at Miss Pilgrim's new school in one of the last scenes of the movie.

Yeah, there's a girl there in a green dress. She is pretty enough to be Marilyn but here hair is more of a dark blonde or even light brown. Don't know if that's her or not.
