Why the Title 'Railroaded'

I note that according to http://mysteryfile.com/blog/?p=132 the Alternate and Working Title is given as

Tomorrow You Die
although I would have thought that is not particularly apposite either whereas perhaps 'Tomorrow You May Die' would be more suitable.

I take the term Railroaded to mean a person who is compelled to do something that they would not have chosen to do. I am not sure that really applies to anyone here.

I take the term "railroaded" to mean about the same thing as "framed", which is what happened to Mr. Kelly.

Yes ddmondello makes sense - it is interesting how figures of speech are developed and perhaps take on adjusted meanings from their original and are (probably) used completely differently in different places.

I have lived most of my life in south east England, UK with ten years spent in the Liverpool, Merseyside area back in the 1970s early 80s.
