Haven't seen this movie but saw a lot like these when I was a kid on Saturday morning. Most of what I saw were Tarzan movies. It was definitely a different time when there were still areas in the world that had not really been explored and there are not many places like that left now. That is what the appeal of the Indiana Jones movies are all about. As for Amazons, I am sure the title is in reference to mythical female warriors more than the Amazon River area. Of course, until about 75 years ago, when ships disappeared there was not much chance of finding them like today. Fun to watch and suspend reality for awhile.
