The Paradine Case---Hitchcock's magnus opus . . .

Fordraff---if you're still about, and just to get something going:

Did Hitchcock attend, in person, the world premiere of The Paradine Case?

I know that he attended the world premiere of North by Northwest on Wednesday evenine, July 1, 1959, at the United Artists theatre in Chicago . . . I've often wondered if he attended any other premieres of his films? I've done some research but can find nothing . . . it doesn't seem to be mentioned anywhere, if he did . . . I honestly do't know . . . from the research you did, did you ever come across anything? Something?

If not, then it is possible the only world premiere of a film he made was in Chicago in 1959 . . .

I think he did attend watch the film when it was released in 131 minutes version.

I am still around. I'm sorry not to have been posting, but my life has been totally absorbed my family matters--I had to put my dad in a nursing home in November and then I had to go home to make preparations for living with my mother. I've barely had time to draw a normal breath since Thanksgiving. I will see what I can find about Hitchcock at the premiere, tho.

Anyway, the only premier that I know he attended in person was here in Chicago at the United Artists theatre on Wednesday night, July 1, 1959 . . . that's it . . . have a feeling that he never attended any other premier . . . though I'm not certain---or let's say this---not publicized appearance . . . the appearance in Chicago was widely publicized . . . I think he avoided this sort of thing . . . I myself can't find anything on this matter . . .

Be brave, I'm sure the family situation will work out, have fortitude . . . don't dispair . . . just make sure your loved one is getting the best of care . . .

I'm going to purchase the DVD for The Paradine Case---even though I want the full three hour version . . . take care . . .
