Juliet Mills

The child in the first scenes with John Mills is Juliet Mills, his daughter, who of course became a renowned actress in her own right. I didn't know until the end credits that the child was Juliet Mills, but I did remark to myself how adorable and photogenic she was during those scenes. I also enjoyed the movie overall--it could have turned out to be of lesser quality, but the acting, direction, and cinematography were all top-notch. For some reason, even as an American, I very much enjoy watching British characters in post-war era stories keeping their "stiff upper lips," their mores, and their individual quirks! I'd recommend this movie to anyone who is interested in this genre.

Yes, Juliet was as cute as a button in this (and became a very good actress). Her dad John Mills is a favourite of mine; he always gives a great performance, and he was very affecting in this. The whole cast - so many well-known faces! - did an excellent job. I'd recommend it to anyone who enjoys a good film!
