Nobody ever missed Mr. Bailey?!

This distresses me no end, maybe because I'm a single person like the unfortunate Mr. B. I wish he'd have lived long enough to sue the doc, who was so callous and neglectful toward him. Not caring about minor characters is pure Hollywood, but even by their low standards this is an extreme case of cinematic malpractice.

I really enjoyed this movie but that bothered me, too. No way would Bailey's disappearance NOT be investigated and his link to the doctor uncovered. The guy seemed polite, well-bred, and was well-dressed. He would definitely have had someone, somewhere, who questioned his sudden disappearance off the face of the earth.

They established early in the script that Bailey was living at the YMCA and had no family nor friends. They also told him, albeit indirectly, that he mite die at any time. But yeah, still kinda callous overall.

As he told the docs, Mr. Bailey has no family or close friends who can look
after him, and he lives at the YMCA.

I'm not crying, you fool, I'm laughing!

Yes, but if he's living at the YMCA, someone there should have noticed his absence. He disappears without taking any of his things?

The one who should have missed Bailey was the other doctor. Talbot's partner, Dr. Merriam was originally Mr. Bailey's doctor. He only saw Talbot because Merriam was late getting to work. He did transfer to Talbot but he was still a patient of their practice. Knowing how sick he was why didn't Merriam show any concern?

When Talbot disappears, you'd think someone at the office would follow up with Bailey's care especially since they knew he was on his own.
