Thomas Mara's associate....

I can't seem to find a credit identifying the man wearing glasses sitting next to Thomas Mara in the courtroom.

He reminds me a little of Hume Cronyn, though I know it isn't actually him.

Just curious, as a plethora of obscure uncredited roles ARE listed.

reply

I believe the character is possibly George, played by Alvin Hammer.

Thank you for your prompt reply!

You're no doubt correct.

Searching "alvin hammer' miracle on "Google Images" brings up images of the character to which I'm referring.

I didn't catch anyone calling him George; though.

Did you?

reply

No, I too had always wondered who he was and felt I had seen him before so I just went down the characters list of those I didn't already know and found the character. He's listed as uncredited and as it should be because all he did was to sit at a table and squint but the one I don't get is Alvin Greenman who played Alfred. He was a bigger part of the movie but was also uncredited.

reply

In a newspaper article a few years back, Mr. Greenman claims (probably half-seriously), that he didn't have a good enough agent to make sure that he got billing.

reply

LOL. Agents are very important, I mean, I am still scratching my head trying to figure out why Lindsay Lohan became the star that she was and the only conclusion I could draw is that she had a great agent!

reply

I did. On the last day of the Court proceedings, just before a bailiff came in to talk to Gayley, Mara spoke to his assistant: "Look at him, George, he doesn't have a thing!"

reply

I second that! I just saw the movie and yes, Mara called him George.
