Isn't that Ed Begley who plays the gatekeeper?

Looks and sounds like Begley in a bit part as a gatekeeper where Skelton cons his way into a movie studio.
Begley would've been the same age as this actor, and his screen career also began at the same time as this movie ... although I've never seen him in other films from this time to be sure. Would be instructive to watch him in, say, BODY AND SOUL to compare.

The movie itself is worth watching if you get the chance. One of the earlier roles for Gloria Grahame, one of the last for Virginia O'Brien.

No ... Ed wasn't born yet and St. Elsewhere wasn't even an idea.

reply

His father.
Who won an Academy Award long before Ed JUNIOR started acting.
Who may have appeared in this 1947 movie before JUNIOR was even an idea.

The confusion would be avoided if you'd bother to read my post or check the link to his filmography.

You have to be more specific.

You shuld have said that you thought it was Ed Begley Jr.

NO.. it is not.

"You shuld have said that you thought it was Ed Begley Jr."

No, I didn't think it was JUNIOR, so I [shuld] not have said that.
I do think you're a troll. Prove me wrong.
