Donald Meek's final film

I always enjoy watching Donald Meek. I think he was one of the more unique character actors of the golden age of Hollywood. Interesting to see this was his final film and that he died during production (from leukemia). He doesn't seem sick or frail in any of his scenes. Actually, he looks a bit heavier than he did in all the MGM films he made earlier in the 40s.

I wonder if he knew how much people appreciated his performances.

This was also Ned Sparks's last movie, but he lived another ten years.

Ironic that Ned Sparks, at least to me, looked like HE was the one about to drop dead during filming.
