Martin Milner's role as the entrepreneurial 'John' in "Life With Father" is one of my all-time favorites. I believe he was one of the last two living members of this cast (the other being Jimmy Lydon who played 'Clarence Jr'), making his passing this weekend even more poignant. He was a marvelous actor and one of the last living products of the old 'studio system' of contracted actors. RIP
shareSo as of 2015 EVERY SINGLE PERSON with a major role in this movie had died except Jimmy Lydon who played Clarence Jr. and as of 2018 is still living aged 95. Wonder if anyone else who appeared in it is living, such as the infants who played the twins about to be baptized?
shareLydon died March 9, 2022, almost ninety-nine years old. I enjoyed his "Henry Aldrich" series when I was a kid. Unfortunately, TCM never shows those movies. The two infants would be about seventy-seven now, but of course wouldn't remember anything about being in the film.
