Rooney's Best

I've seen Mickey Rooney in many films and expect a typical nice guy character (Andy Hardy movies). I've seen him in a noir which was very good. This film shows a completely different character. Sinister and sarcastic, well worn by the life he's had thrown at him. Excellent role. This certainly shows Rooney in a different light.

The film's a gem. Good story, great cast and Rooney's acting (and even boxing scenes!). His best. Proves he could be a good guy but very no nonsense when the role called for it.

This movie came out in 1947...and Mr. Rooney has SEVERAL movies still either in production or being completed this year. That's longevity both as an actor and human being.

Agreed! Quicksand is also a favorite, just in case you've not seen it.
