Bubbling Spring, VA

Bubbling Spring Recreation Area, VA, the location for the winter home of the O'Connors, is in the Blue Ridge Mountains, specifically the George Washington and Jefferson National Forest on the West Virginia border. It probably has worse winters than New York City most years.
It's funny how they portray it as a genteel Southern vacation spot like Hilton Head, SC or St. Simons Island, GA. I guess "Virginia" sounds mellow and warm. I'd rather winter in Manhattan: better roads and better shopping!
