I had never seen this movie until last year when TCM showed it-never even heard of it. But I decided to watch it and fell in love with it. What a delightful little movie and I literally cry at the end..Mike says,"Let's nail up that board in the fence, next year he's coming in the front door--I lost it..
I'm getting old and sentimental and perhaps cry to easily now days but that really got me.

My family and I just watched it on a TCM Holiday movie pack my mom bought. It was quite adorable. Even my stepdad loved it, and he hates everything!

"He's already attracted to her. Time and monotony will do the rest."

Probably the best last line of any movie.

I love this movie! This is a lost Jewel as good as any Christmas film out today or in the past.

When I read that Turner Classics might start making administrative changes and go for new demos in order to add revenue and maintain operations without adding commercials, I look at what they do so well: introduce movies like this to other generations and perhaps gain new fans in the process.
