I've never seen it, and I'm interested in renting it, but the cover looks sort of...Christmas-y. I can't watch a movie with more than a mere scene or two set around Christmas, or I get Christmas music stuck in my head...for WEEKS!
Help a poor soul out...Is this a Christmas movie or not?
Good question. It's a story that happens to take place around Christmas and New Year's, but the story doesn't really have that much to do with Christmas. I think there's one Christmas song (That's What Christmas Means to Me) and a few non-Christmas songs, but they're not songs that are considered popular these days, so it might be hard for them to get stuck in your head. Maybe you can fast forward through them.

It's enough to get you in that jolly mood. It takes place around Christmas time and gives you the feels.
shareI think the seasonal trappings are there, but I don't think this film goes out of its way to say "Christmas movie!" Still, I think it has a real story that speaks for those who don't have it so easy around that time of year. It is wish fulfillment fantasy, but that is the movies!
Some great casting once again secures this film's charm.
I am coming in fresh on this one just today so it is great that Turner Classics keeps introducing to us!
