A friend of mine has been desperately trying to find out the location of the mansion block featured in the film. Apparently it has an amazing spiral staircase. He has been in touch with both Douglas Slocombe and Harry Fowler neither of whom can remember!! Can anyone help?

As to the spiral staircase, these scenes look like studio sets to me.
