Its more than just a good film. Its an important film with its immediate post war setting featuring kids heavily.

It's certainly interesting and nostalgia inspiring. Seeing parts of the east end and especially the docklands as they were before they were gentrified at the end of the 20th century.

Also great to see kids doing what kids used to do - outside playing and mucking about!

Yes, but a lesser Ealing comedy for me. The story is flimsy, some of the actors are somewhat miscast (though pretty good for more or less amateurs, as many of them were), but the scenes and atmosphere of post-war London make up for it.

No valley too deep, no mountain too high.

A real "boy's own adventure" story. I can imagine the atmosphere in the cinema. Every kid going home and replaying the film. They already had the scene set up. Oh, those wonderful carefree days. As another poster said, kids doing what kids did in those days.
