Very underrated. Not well known. Not shown often. Actually, this is the first time I came across this gem. Loved it, loved Clark Gable, loved Deborah Kerr.
There was no one more elegant, classy and sexy as Deborah Kerr. Nominated for 6 Best Actress in a Leading Role Academy Awards but never winning, remarkable.
Because of Ms. Kerr and for other reasons this has become a NEW personal favorite.

Since you say this movie is your first "encounter" with this marvelous actress, could I suggest you few of her best performances - at least for me ?
The two absolute best movies of hers are the so haunting The Innocents and the unforgettable An Affair to Remember.
Then, in chronological order, I'll recommend : Colonel Blimp, Perfect Strangers, The Black Narcissus, If Winter Comes, King Salomon's mine, Quo Vadis, The Prisoner of Zenda (she was never as beautiful and classy than here), Young Bess, From Here to Eternity, The King and I, Tea and Sympathy, Heaven's knows Mr Allison, Separate tables.

I am sorry if I gave you the impression this was my first encounter with Deborah Kerr, nothing could be further from the truth. This was my first encounter with this film, The Hucksters. Actually, Miss Kerr is one of my favorite actresses and I can be found regularly searching the TCM website to see when her films will next be showing.
Of the films you suggested to see I have seen most or plan to see them.
