Was Mrs. Muir ill?

Seeing how her housekeeper fussed over her and especially laying her down for naps, I can't help but have the impression that she was ill. I may have missed something, since I had to constantly adjust the sound between the voices (too low) and the music (too loud).

No... she wasn't ill... but she came from a household where servants did the work. Martha was her former maid, and worried about Lucy fending for herself. It's a little clearer in the book. Martha was not a full time maid, Lucy couldn't afford her.

I don't think she was ill. I think because her husband died and she had a difficult year and she was perhaps stressed and under the weather but nothing serious. She just needed some rest and I think that's why Martha was more attentive towards her.
