Question About The Ending

Just watched this this afternoon and I really liked it. However, I was exactly 5 minutes from the end, and the disc skipped and went straight to the DVD menu.

Could someone please tell me the very end?
Peck's fiancee had just had a discussion at the restaurant. And Peck had just entered the doorway and about to have a conversation with his mother.
Did he get back with his bride-to-be? Or did they decide they weren't compatible?
If anyone could please tell me what I missed, I would greatly appreciate it. Thankyou.

Yes,thHey reunited at the end. He went to get on an elevator then went back to Kathy's apartment and they embraced. He realized he was being overly sensitive to imaginary slights and, with the help of Phil's friend (probably the restaurant scene you saw) she realized it was wrong of her to just stand by and not speak up when someone makes a bigoted remark in her prescence. Hope this helps.

Thankyou! That's a nice end.
Can't believe it took this long for someone to reply ;-)
Thanks very much.

Well, the really old movies, especially if they haven't been on TV in a long time, don't have a lot of activity. Just for fun, I periodically "check in" with my favorites. Glad I was able to help.
